What you’ll be doing

As the Build Team Leader, you’ll oversee the day-to-day performance of the Mechanical Fitters, ensuring that assemblies are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll allocate work, set clear expectations, and keep production on track by monitoring output, addressing issues quickly, and leading daily start-of-shift discussions.

You’ll be actively present on the shop floor, supporting complex build tasks when needed, maintaining accurate production and stock data in QAD, and ensuring your area runs smoothly. A key part of your role will be developing your team — identifying training needs, coaching individuals, managing performance, and building a flexible, multi-skilled workforce that can adapt to customer and schedule demands.

You will champion safe working practices, lead risk assessments, enforce process discipline, and work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Technical teams to continually improve the build process.

  • Proactive and confident leader who gets the best out of people

  • Comfortable being hands-on and actively present on the shop floor

  • Strong communication skills and ability to guide and motivate a team
