Core Hours: 08:00-16:35 (Mon–Thu) 08:00-15:10 (Fri). 
Vacancy Type: Full-time, Permanent and hybrid working (3 days in office but subject to operational needs)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (subject to experience)

About the role

NP Aerospace is seeking an experienced Bid Coordinator to support the Bid Team Leader and wider team in delivering current contracts and securing future business. You will help shape, manage, draft and negotiate high quality commercial, technical and financial proposals that align with our business objectives.

You will assess customer requirements across a range of solicitations including invitations to tender, pre qualification questionnaires and requests for information, while producing accurate, competitive and well written bid responses within agreed timelines and budgets.

This role works closely with the Bid Team Leader, senior leaders and subject matter experts across both the UK and North American business units. You will collaborate regularly with teams in Composites and Armour Systems and in Vehicle Systems Services and Spares, as well as with members of the NP Aerospace Executive Team.

Bids vary in scale and complexity, from small submissions of five to ten thousand pounds through to major multi million pound opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support pre bid activity by preparing clear and accurate responses to expressions of interest, pre qualification questionnaires and requests for information.
  • Help develop high quality proposals by coordinating inputs, gathering information and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Track and report bid progress across the business so everyone is aligned and informed.
  • Support the management of bids from initial decision through to contract acceptance, working closely with teams across the company.
  • Work with engineering, project management, operations, procurement and quality teams to shape technical and service solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Assist the Bid Team Leader in organising and coordinating bid activity and resources.
  • Contribute to cost and price estimation alongside the Cost Engineer, including rapid turnaround submissions.
  • Capture and assess bid related risks and support the development of mitigation plans.
  • Draft and review proposal content with subject matter experts, ensuring accuracy, strong presentation and clear win themes.
  • Build positive relationships with internal teams and support the set up of agreements with key partners and suppliers when required.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in bid coordination with the ability to produce clear, well written and accurate responses.
  • Background in working with defence prime contractors, the UK Ministry of Defence and international customers.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy with solid MS Office skills, especially Word and Excel.
  • Good technical understanding, ideally supported by formal technical or engineering qualifications.
  • Confident communicator with strong commercial awareness and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Able to communicate and report comfortably at all levels across the business.
  • Strong negotiation skills with customers, managers and peers.
  • Experience in cost estimation or cost engineering is an advantage.


Ability Assessment
