Job title of the line manager: Job title of the functional manager (if any): Responsibilities: The Autonomous Production Unit (APU) Manager provides day-to-day management of their unit by ensuring that sufficient quantities of high-quality components/products are produced in full compliance with lead time and cost requirements. They also provide leadership for their teams (100-250 people, depending on production plant) and manage the unit’s machinery and installations

Scope of Activities

To carry out some or all of the following activities: 

• Guide, optimize and coordinate production resources and activities proactively to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality components that meet or exceed customer expectations
• Resolve manufacturing issues and/or improve processes by coordinating and mobilizing resources with expert advisers in other departments, such as maintenance, materials, planning, logistics and engineering
• Involve staff and support change by empowering employees to make decisions, promote innovation and encourage continuous learning
• Communicate expectations unambiguously, and make employees accountable for their performance
• Ensure employee adoption of the vision and targets of the Group and the production plant
• Create, promote and maintain a safe working environment, paying close attention to accident prevention and investigation, equipment maintenance, procedural compliance and good corporate citizenship
• Know your (internal and external) customers, be proactive and reactive, deliver on your commitments and create value.

• Implement the manufacturing strategy
• Manage the organizational structure of the APU
• Lead and coordinate the teams on the basis of detailed delegation

Implement the quality, industrialization, procurement and supply chain management strategies defined by the Executive Management Team

• Lead and manage a team, ensuring that employee skills are developed in line with business developments and the needs of the organization

The activities are to be adapted for employees on work/study contracts (vocational training contracts, apprenticeship contracts, etc.) to remain consistent with their theory training.
