Job environment

Job title of the line manager: Logistics Site Manager Job title of the functional manager (if any): Responsibilities: To take operational, financial and managerial responsibility for providing logistic services on behalf of our customers. To guarantee the performance in terms of safety, quality, lead times and costs.

Scope of Activities

To carry out some or all of the following activities: 

  • Implement previously defined policies and interpret them in the form of action plans
  • Monitor the budget within your scope of responsibility
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers in terms of operational supervision
  • Monitor the achievement of targets and customer satisfaction levels by meeting quality, cost and lead time criteria
  • Prepare and chair customer steering committee meetings (indicators, improvement projects, etc.)

Organize flow management

  • Supervise goods reception, preparation and shipment
  • Build flow management dashboards to reflect annual activity periods
  • Anticipate storage requirements and optimize the use of storage areas
  • Use IS tools to optimize flows of goods

Optimize logistics operations

  • Implement and monitor performance indicators, and report the results to your manager
  • Control transportation costs and envision new solutions

Manage logistics teams

  • Specify human resources and equipment requirements according to the period of the year and flow forecasts
  • Carry out human resources management tasks: hiring, training, annual appraisals and development of high-potential individuals)
  • Organize the work done by the teams, coordinate them and unite their members
  • Contribute to hiring new employees and organizing their induction
  • Contribute to employee skills development
  • Delegate and control the activities of team leaders
  • Ensure the application of, and compliance with, Health & Safety rules technical trends
  • Ensure effective communication
  • Promote the group's entrepreneurial spirit and values

Monitor trends in your activity

  • Lead and manage a team, ensuring that employee skills are developed in line with business developments and the needs of the organization

 The activities are to be adapted for employees on work/study contracts (vocational training contracts, apprenticeship contracts, etc.) to remain consistent with their theory training.
