Brookhouse Aerospace are looking for an apprentice to learn and develop the skills of a sheet metal worker, under the supervision of a qualified tradesmen, for aerospace metal components. This apprenticeship provides hands on in a highly regulated environment and a formal qualification with Training 2000.
This role will be studying Level 3 Metal Fabrication at Training 2000 based in Blackburn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the manufacture and installation of sheet metal components used in aircraft structures and systems.
- Learn to work with aerospace-grade materials such as aluminium alloys, titanium, and stainless steel.
- Support the use of precision tooling and machinery including CNC equipment, press brakes, rubber press, hand rollers , wheeling and shrinking machines and various types of hand tools.
- Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Follow strict quality control procedures and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).
- Participate in all inspection processes.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to aerospace manufacturing.
- Attend and complete all required training modules and coursework as part of the apprenticeship program.
