Here is what you can expect to be doing:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CMM Programmer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring precision and quality in manufactured components by programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect parts against engineering specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write CMM programs using software such as PC-DMIS.
  • Operate CMM equipment  and FARO arms to inspect first-off, in-process, and final components. 
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and 3D models.
  • Analyse measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve dimensional issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and inspection processes.
  • Train other staff on CMM usage and inspection techniques as needed.

A few things about you:

  • Proven experience in CMM programming and operation.
  • Hands-on experience with FARO Arm or similar portable CMM technology.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection techniques.
  • Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and FARO software (e.g., CAM2).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NVQ/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with other metrology tools (e.g., micrometres, height gauges, surface plates).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.

When you are working:

4-day week Monday to Thursday 07:15 am to 5:00 pm totalling 37 hours weekly.
