Job title of the line manager: Methods Manager / Head of the Methods Group Job title of the functional manager (if any): Chief Engineer Responsibilities: To contribute to costing, preliminary studies and design studies (definition and adjustment of manufacturing sequences, processes, resources and minor modifications). To contribute to industrialization projects by developing the process and associated documentation to ensure compliance with quality and cost targets and meet project deadlines. To contribute to continuous improvement by optimizing production costs, safety and ergonomics. To supervise production and provide the technical support required to resolve non-quality issues.

  • Scope of activities
  • Perform some or all of the following activities:
  • Carry out the costing for the Invitation to Tender with a proposed schedule (RC – Recurring Cost, NRC – Non-Recurring Cost) Participate in pre-studies (including pre-procurement and procurement) and studies Contribute to the preparation of definition files and validate them, in collaboration with the design office Define the manufacturing operating processes, in accordance with the technical requirements, quality-costs-time, health, safety and workplace conditions committee, and the budget, define the manufacturing file (manufacturing/repair and control instructions) and participate in the development of the control file and incorporate them into the documentary systems Define, structure, monitor and update items, ranges and nomenclatures in the information system Transmit the technical elements necessary for manufacture of the tools (budget, deadlines, etc.) to the design office or the subcontractor Determine and optimize manufacturing times Provide technical support to production and partners, solve technical problems by being proactive and intervene on quality notices Participate in value analyses and product/process FMECA, propose process or tooling improvements (calculation of production time, monitoring of new technologies and methods) Activities need to be adapted for employees on work-study placements (professionalization contracts, apprenticeship contracts, etc.) to be in line with their training.
