Job title of the line manager: HSE Manager Job title of the functional manager (if any): Responsibilities: To manage environmental, safety and occupational health risks in accordance with regulatory obligations and the company Health, Safety and Environment policy.

Scope of Activities

To carry out some or all of the following activities:

  • Advise and support operational and HSE staff with implementation of the local policy
  • Take responsibility for the site HSE improvement program and for identifying capabilities and resource adequacy,
  • Evaluate occupational risks, including fire risks, ATEX, risks to equipment and buildings, environmental risks, etc.
  • Ensure practical application of the Uniform Occupational Risks Assessment Document and the product and service life cycle environmental analysis
  • Raise operator awareness of the importance of occupational health and safety, and ensure that they understand the occupational risks they face and that fact that preventive and protective measures must be taken
  • Involve field staff in working groups to encourage their adoption of HSE culture and tools
  • Manage and/or implement the actions defined, and work with the CSE and occupational health department
  • Advise, help and support local managers with:
  • controlling risks and following instructions
  • accident investigations, cause identification and the drafting of the HSE improvement plan
  • analyzing malfunctions, non-conformities and incidents within the scope of your responsibility
  • integrating HSE issues into site development and capital expenditure studies (resources/processes) (launch, etc.)
  • monitoring the HSE improvement program (SR1 and SR2, monthly HSE reviews, etc.) and the adoption of HSE culture
  • indicator-based performance measurement
  • Write/validate procedures, instructions and field documentation, and verify their application
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary approaches (General Resources, Occupational Health, HR, Production Units, etc.)
  • Analyze the degree to which the company's activities comply with regulations and other applicable internal and external requirements
  • Monitor continuity of the management system and the tools used to process and manage occupational accident/illness statistics and analyze regulatory compliance
  • Consolidate HSE result reporting for your scope of responsibility
  • Build and maintain relationships with insurers, official bodies and specialist organizations, and respond to their requests (CSE / DIRECCTE/ DREAL, etc.)
  • Implement prevention plans and safety protocols with other companies operating on site
  • Run HSE induction sessions for new employees

The activities are to be adapted for employees on work/study contracts (vocational training contracts, apprenticeship contracts, etc.) to remain consistent with their theory training.
