About the Role

Field Aviation, a leader in aircraft modification and missionization, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Manager to take ownership of a current, high-visibility aircraft modification program. In this role, you will be responsible for the full program lifecycle — managing budget, schedule, planning, and execution while serving as the key interface with executive leadership and our customer.

This position is ideal for a hands-on, customer-facing leader who thrives on managing complex programs in regulated aerospace environments. You will not only deliver on contractual commitments but also drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, and contribute to Field Aviation’s long-term growth strategies.

Reports to: Vice President Operations

What You Will Do

  • Program Ownership & Execution

    • Meet contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned programs.

    • Lead day-to-day execution of aircraft modification programs, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

    • Develop, maintain, and report on integrated master schedules; identify risks and mitigation strategies.

    • Provide monthly status updates and program reviews for executive leadership and customer stakeholders.

  • Customer & Stakeholder Management

    • Serve as the primary interface with the customer, developing strong, trust-based relationships.

    • Present program priorities, milestones, and risks clearly to both customers and internal leadership.

    • Lead proposal and capture activities for follow-on opportunities, including contract negotiations.

  • Financial & Strategic Management

    • Drive tactical execution while ensuring alignment with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Plan (LRP) goals.

    • Manage budgets, forecasts, and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting to track financial health.

    • Lead program risk and opportunity (R&O) processes in line with financial goals.

  • Team Leadership

    • Direct cross-functional teams including Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality, and Contracts.

    • Provide mentorship and oversight to program management staff, fostering growth and accountability.

    • Ensure subcontractor and vendor performance meets cost, schedule, and quality requirements.

  • Compliance & Quality

    • Ensure all program work complies with Field Aviation’s Quality Assurance Procedures and airworthiness regulations.

    • Lead lean and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

    • Oversee program closeout and seamless transition to customer support.

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)

  • Gain full command of program scope, budget, and schedule within 60 days.

  • Establish and maintain a clear reporting cadence with both leadership and the customer.

  • Deliver accurate program status updates, highlighting risks, mitigation strategies, and financial performance.

  • Achieve on-time delivery of major milestones and implement at least two efficiency improvements.

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with customer stakeholders and internal executives.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant program management experience.

  • Proven success managing large, complex aviation or aerospace programs; aircraft modification program experience is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical, cost, and schedule requirements in program delivery.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality.

  • Proficiency with MS Project and financial/project tools including Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present effectively to customers and executives.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • PMP certification (or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of aircraft subsystems and modification processes.

  • Experience managing defense industry programs and working with multiple contract types (FAR, OTA).

  • Familiarity with program risk & opportunity (R&O) processes, revenue/profit recognition, and manufacturing execution.

  • Aviation or military background a strong asset.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to secure CGP clearance (Field will assist).

  • May require U.S. government licensing to work on military programs.
