We are hiring a Senior Manager, Training and Certification based out of the Calgary Airport 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Support Services, our Senior Manager, Training and Certification is responsible for overseeing daily performance, managing training initiatives and working alongside CATSA in planning and scheduling successful training related activities. The Senior Manager, Training and Certification will provide guidance and leadership to the Training Managers and Administrator, Training and Compliance.

 

What does a Senior Manager, Training & Certification do?

Ensure CATSA, PASS, and other systems remain current in training, compliance, and certification

Lead training planning and forecasting to meet organizational and regulatory needs

Collaborate with CATSA and PASS to schedule and execute training initiatives

Refine strategies to boost training efficiency, productivity, and quality

Review performance data, identify issues, and implement improvements

Oversee training budget, approvals, and ensure alignment with NTCP standards

Maintaining training schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

Develop and update internal policies supporting NTCP and Paladin training

Participate in ongoing continued education

Responsible for the maintenance and delivery of the training content & programs

Collaborate with CATSA stakeholders to maintain and improve training

Address trending issues of non-compliance to lower employee turnover and improve deliver of services

Monitor students’ performance and identify areas for improvement

Ensure the training program delivery meets applicable regulatory standards of the CLC, including OH&S Regulations

Oversee the effective administration of all related Training Compliances in Paladin’s ERP software, and the development of supporting Quality Assurance Audits

Maintain data integrity, security, and confidentiality of protected training documents

Create an evaluation mechanism for all new hires

Contribute to internal interdisciplinary reviews and audits

Work in collaboration with other departments in the ongoing creation and updates of training content and programs

Work with the Training Development Team in assisting with continuous supplementary training on topics of customer experience, DE&I & belonging with support from the Director of DE&I and Belonging

Investigate and resolve CATSA TAS issues

Conduct Training File Audits and ensure that any non-compliances are identified and addressed

Ensure that Training Managers and SCTRs are updated with the changes

Provide oversight of all training related activities across the Region, including regular meetings with ROMs, OMs, Training Managers, SCTRs, and Line Leads to maintain adequately trained personnel in all airports capable of delivering OJT

Ensure all operations adhere to PASS internal policies

Identify and drive initiatives to enhance operational processes


What you bring to PASS

You are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident of Canada

You are able to obtain a Transport Security Clearance and enhanced federal clearances

No unpardoned criminal record

Fluency in English, verbal and written (French as an asset)

You have a degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Leadership and/ or Learning and Development

Have 5+ years work experience in areas of Leadership Management, Aviation Security Management, Pre-Board Screening Management, Learning and Development, mentorship and team development and/or Budget oversight and forecasting

Has experience in MS Office, LMS Software, ERP systems, Data and reporting tools and Document Management

Expertise in regulatory training compliance, analytical and strategic thinking

Experience with relevant regulatory standards such as CLC and OH&S and experience in a multi-union environment

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
