About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Avionics Expert to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, integration, testing, and certification of avionics systems in advanced aerospace platforms. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding multidisciplinary teams, supporting critical decision-making, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and integration of avionics systems (communication, navigation, surveillance, mission, and flight control).
- Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations (EASA/FAA) and industry standards (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761, etc.).
- Oversee system architecture, requirements definition, and interface management.
- Manage system verification and validation activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and flight testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, systems engineering, certification).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Support supplier evaluation, selection, and technical oversight.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in avionics engineering within aerospace industry.
- Proven expertise in avionics architecture, systems integration, and certification.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (EASA CS-23/25, FAA FAR Part 23/25, DO-160, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with system safety analysis and certification processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in UAVs or innovative aerospace programs.
- Familiarity with renewable-energy powered aircraft or advanced mission systems.
- Previous experience interacting directly with EASA/FAA or other certification authorities.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a startup or aerospace setting is a plus.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, R&D-focused environments.
