Task description:

  • Ensure the optimum balance between product design and industrial assembly technology capabilities, in support of securing the top program objectives for future aircraft

  • Understand upcoming aircraft designs, their requirements, and performance goals

  • Design innovative solutions by developing new assembly and robotics technologies for future aircraft manufacturing

  • Identify technology needs by pinpointing gaps in current technology and define requirements for new research and technology projects

  • Assess technical feasibility, maturity, value (e.g., safety, sustainability, cost), and risks of new ideas

  • Manage relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders

  • Manage internal collaboration with various internal functions across multiple sites

  • Preparation of required documentation and presentations of work results

Required qualifications:

The work task requires knowledge and skills, which are usually provided by a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of ​​Manufacturing Systems Engineering, a standard period of study of more than 4 years with a degree and related subject-specific additional qualification or completed vocational training with a corresponding, particularly extensive, subject-specific additional qualification. The overall knowledge and experience required may have been acquired in other ways

Required expertise:

  • Several years of professional experience in the area of jigs and tools, design concepting and commissioning

  • Profound experience in project management or sub-project management in an international environment

  • Sound knowledge and experience in manufacturing, engineering and assembly processes in aviation industry

  • High level of problem-solving skills for critical issues

  • Committed, proactive and team-orientated way of thinking and working

  • Strong improvisation, organisational skills and negotiating skills

  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills

  • Willingness for (occasional) business trips at home and abroad

Location:

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry.
