About the team you are joining

Airlines transport over 62 million metric tons of goods a year, representing more than 33% of global trade by value but less than 1% of world trade by volume. That is equivalent to $6.8 trillion worth of goods annually, or $18.6 billion worth of goods every day. 
The OSS Cargo team is responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transport of goods in cargo. Our top three priorities focus on Safety and Security, Digitalization and Sustainability.
You will report to the Global Head of Cargo and you will manage the development and execution of the cargo agenda in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Regions and serve as the strategic and operational lead for the regional cargo organization. You will work with the countries in the EMEA region remotely and in person, leading the transformation of the Air Cargo Value Chain and supporting cargo initiatives throughout the region.

What your day would be like

Engage with key stakeholders and 2 IATA regional offices to understand the needs and priorities of the EMEA regions.
Promote and implement trade facilitation activities among the region.
Develop and nurture cargo communities, fostering collaboration and engagement among stakeholders.
Diplomatically influence the direction of air cargo in the region with the authorities by introducing IATA cargo concepts and products that support the long-term objectives. (i.e., ONE Record, DG Autocheck, CEIV).
Identify opportunities and key partners to support development and regional adoption including Airlines, Freight Forwarders, Ground Handling Agent (GHA), Shippers, and Authorities.
Promote industry standards for infrastructure, digitalization, sustainability, and safety throughout the region.
Identify, support, and deliver business development opportunities which promote IATA´s commercial products and services, including the areas of Business Intelligence, Finance, Distribution, Consulting, Operations and Training at the local level.
Support the regional IATA team, ensuring Cargo priorities and targets for the Region are delivered, and ensuring regional issues are incorporated in global priority setting.
Support cargo and training events with the goal of growing participation in forums such as the World Cargo Symposium (WCS), CEIV, Dangerous Goods, and other cargo workshops.
Support subject owners in product development based on requirements in the region and feedback from key stakeholders.


We would love to hear from you if

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the cargo or logistics sector, with demonstrated managerial skills in operations, business, or commercial roles.
A comprehensive understanding of air cargo operations and processes (end-to-end), including IT systems and standards (ONE Record, CASS).
Proven ability to lead diverse and remote stakeholders, with a talent for building relationships and managing projects effectively.
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills. Well-developed negotiation and advocacy abilities, and a high level of cultural intelligence.
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial acumen. Experience in sales and marketing is a plus.
Excellent communication skills in English are essential, any additional regional languages will be an advantage.

This is not a remote position; you will be required to work a minimum of three days per week from the office.

Travel Required: Y:10-20%
