Job Summary:

To directly assist the Quality Engineering function in the daily management of Quality Investigations, Quality Planning processes provide the company with the highest levels of confidence in our QE capability. Ensure that the customer facing response to concerns raised is expedient, efficient and effective. Assist with product technical queries from internal/external customers & suppliers, ensuring compliance with all Wesco QMS procedures and standards and customer requirements.

Accountability and Scope:

  • The Quality Engineer will where possible resolve customer quality issues. Where this is not possible parts will be returned to the supplier. Where a corrective action is required the Quality Engineer shall generate this and liaise with Supplier Quality team, customer returns that are received will be investigated and a root cause sought. Any subsequent actions such as quarantining remaining stock, identifying any other part numbers that may be affected, reviewing parts shipped to other customers, are followed up. Where necessary a corrective action response will be sent to customer.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all non- conformance is dealt with in a timely manner with validated corrective/preventative actions. Liaise with all other functions, customers and or suppliers where necessary.
  • Workload management across the Quality Engineering functions.
  • Undertake the returns and rejections processes, liaising with the Supplier Quality Engineers where appropriate.
  • Lead/participate in root cause analysis, problem solving, and Quality investigations.
  • Control and disposition of scrap items from the rejection process.
  • Run out of life reports on a timely basis and out of life parts are processed to completion.
  • Parts found as non-conforming are quarantined and a problem statement is entered onto system. Any immediate containment actions are managed.
  • Participate in MRB meetings.
  • Process customer returns and manages all immediate containment actions.
  • Complete a full and concise investigation into customer returns, formulating a detailed response to customers when required.
  • Ensure customer, stock and supplier containment is actioned immediately upon discovery of a quality concern, managing quarantine bond efficiently.
  • Work to specific deadlines and priorities as directed
  • Actively contributes to any continuous improvement activities.

Measures of Performance:

  •  Customer escapes - A rejection or notification from the customer found to be Incora liability, this will also include supplier liable issues that have reached the customer. The metrics will be counted as an occurrence.
  •  Supplier return - Suspected supplier liable non-conformance detected by Incora from Inspection, Goods in or EOLA. Counted as number of occurrences.
  • Inspection/WIP – Count of Lines in Inspection hold and containment >28 Days. Count of lines in Inspection WIP >7 Days

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognize engineering qualifications and 1-3 years relevant experience.
  • Experience performing investigations and root cause analysis would also be an advantage.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office package.
