Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled, creative, and driven manufacturing engineer to drive our communication systems from initial concept development to full-scale production. The position will own the relationship between the engineering development, supply chain, production, and test teams. The role measures its success based on quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and the ability to achieve deliveries within expected timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and optimize electronics manufacturing processes, including PCBA, electromechanical assembly, test, and final system integration.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve current manufacturing processes, including equipment, documentation, training, gages and tooling/fixtures, to optimize quality, productivity and cost performance.
  • Design and maintain manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, gages, and documentation to ensure quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials to ensure consistency, quality, and repeatability on the production floor.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions quickly using data-driven analysis.
  • Support development of assembly, functional test, and automation solutions to support scaling production.
  • Design and implement assembly, test and automation processes and tooling that supports volume manufacturing with a quality assurance mindset.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping the team iterate quickly and efficiently.
  • Take on diverse tasks as needed to support the growth and success of the company.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, including PCBA, SMT, and electromechanical assembly.
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing processes, including PCBA, SMT, and electromechanical assembly.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for prototypes and small-to-medium volume production.
  • Experience creating work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly, test, and automation equipment preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment, adapting to changing priorities, and wearing multiple hats.
  • Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total cost progress.
  • Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints.
    • Schematics: engineering drawings, circuit layouts, and parts list
    • Cable Harnesses: wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and parts list.
    • Mechanical Assemblies: mechanical drawings and parts lists.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed, with minimal notification.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to read, interpret and follow:
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering and Production.
  • Able to adapt to constantly changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  •  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolong sitting or standing for long periods of time, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, and crouching.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to use tools such as microscopes, for long periods.
