Maintenance Handyman

Location: Leeds Bradford Airport

Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00 (flexibility required)
Reporting to: Senior Maintenance Engineer

At Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), we’re proud to be Yorkshire’s international gateway. As we continue to grow and welcome more passengers every year, we’re looking for a dedicated Maintenance Handyman to join our Facilities & Engineering team and help keep our terminal and buildings safe, smart and fully operational.

This is your chance to be part of a hands-on, high-energy team in a unique and dynamic environment — no two days are ever the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance across our terminal and outlying buildings.

  • Performing general repairs: basic plumbing, joinery, painting, plastering, floor and tiling fixes, ceiling tile replacements, and more.

  • Supporting with minor electrical tasks like changing light bulbs, replacing sockets and switches (where trained).

  • Helping with seasonal operations – from gritting and snow clearing to responding to leaks or weather damage.

  • Supporting refurbishments and small project work with the wider engineering team.

  • Keeping areas tidy, safe, and well-maintained – always putting safety first.

  • Logging work tasks, monitoring supplies, and communicating with contractors when needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or handyman role, ideally in a commercial or public setting.

  • Solid skills across general maintenance disciplines – plumbing, decorating, DIY, basic electrics.

  • Confidence with hand tools, small power tools, and working safely at height.

  • A proactive mindset – someone who can spot a problem and fix it fast.

  • Friendly, reliable and able to work on your own or with a team.

  • Good communication and basic computer skills for logging jobs and reports.

  • Physically fit to manage a manual, active workload.
