Facilities & Maintenance Manager – Aerospace Sector
Location: Portsmouth, UK
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE
25 days + BH + 9 day working fortnight

 

The Company:

My client is an Aerospace organisation involved in the design, manufacturing, certification, and services for mission-critical equipment. 

They support both civil and military operators, working closely with OEM's and maintenance facilities. This is an organisation who has been established for 50 years, a global leader in mission-critical equipment, operating in over 120 countries.

 

The Role

As the Site Services Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the site operations and infrastructure. In addition, you will maintain a safe working environment which is operational and compliant with industry regulations/

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain security protocols, managing contractors, conducting audits and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Be responsible for implementing and maintaining energy management systems, waste management whilst ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Facilities, Maintenance & Infrastructure Management – you will oversee CMMS implementation, managing facility-related costs and coordinating maintenance activities
  • Leadership responsibility of a small team of maintenance engineers 
  • Management of contracts including cleaning contractors as well as inspecting the facility to ensure standards are adhered to

Your Background:

  • A background working within a similar role in a manufacturing environment, ideally withing Aerospace or similar.
  • Previously managed budgets and held responsibility for financial planning. 
  • Communication and Leadership is key to this role. As part of your role, you will hold a key position in negotiation and people management skills.
  • Previous management, leadership or supervisory experience required. 
  • Strong understanding of building/facilities, health & safety regulations, environmental management and space planning. 
  • A background in project management and planning is desirable

Qualifications:

  • IWFM Level 5 Diploma in Facilities Management 
  • NEBOSH Diploma for Health, Safety & Environment 
  • HND or professional qualification in Business Property Management
