What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the CFO, the Executive Director is a strategic enterprise leader responsible for transforming GTAA’s finance function into a high-impact, insight-driven business partner. This role leads the business-facing finance organization to elevate planning, forecasting, performance management, and decision support across all business units and corporate functions.

This leader will modernize how finance partners with the business—embedding digital tools, standardizing management reporting, and establishing a Centre of Excellence (COE) for analytics, scenario planning, and decision intelligence. The role integrates financial rigor with strategic insight to drive resource optimization, and sustainable enterprise performance.  

The successful delivery of this enterprise-wide transformation rests specifically on the ability to lead and execute on three foundational pillars: Business Partnering & FP&A Excellence, the establishment of a Corporate Analytics Centre of Excellence, and comprehensive Finance Systems & Technology Enablement.                                                  

As Executive Director, Business Finance, Planning and Analytics, you will:

  • Lead the enterprise planning, forecasting, and performance management cadence, delivering forward-looking insights and high-quality decision support for GTAA business units. 
  • Establish a best-in-class analytics COE to deliver advanced scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and standardized evaluation frameworks for investment and strategic decisions. 
  • Align Finance Systems to strengthen technology enablement—enhancing complex modeling, data integration, and advanced analytical capabilities that support the shift toward timely insight-driven decision-making (“inverting the pyramid”).
  • Be the primary finance partner to Executive Team leaders, providing strategic guidance, objective challenge, and executive-ready insights to inform key operational and strategic decisions. 
  • Build and lead a high-performance culture, which is people centric and enables career trajectory.
  • Codify enterprise-wide financial frameworks and lead the transformation of Finance from a transactional function to a value-creation engine rooted in data, insight, and continuous improvement. 

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • 15+ years progressive finance experience with 5+ years leading FP&A/Business Finance teams.
  • 15+ years progressive finance experience with 5+ years leading FP&A/Business Finance teams; proven track record establishing enterprise planning/reporting frameworks and delivering executive decision support in capital-intensive and/or complex environments. 
  • CPA Designation.
  • Proven track record establishing enterprise planning/reporting frameworks and delivering executive decision support in capital-intensive and/or complex environments.
  • Airport/transportation, infrastructure, utilities, or public-sector experience; hands-on complex modeling, and benefits realization; standing up/transforming a business finance function. 
  • Advanced financial modeling; Excel/Power Query/Power Pivot; Power BI (or equivalent); EPM/ERP (e.g., SAP/Oracle/Anaplan/TM1); driver-based planning; scenario/sensitivity analysis; executive storytelling; stakeholder influence; team leadership and coaching; strong process design and documentation. 
  • Knowledge of IFRS; MD&A coordination; understanding of procurement impacts on financials; exposure to treasury/capital markets; change leadership. 
  • Ability to influence others and lead change.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics with an MBA and/or Master’s in Business or Finance.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.
