Role Purpose
This is a CAAM (Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia) approved role. Responsible for conducting Aviation Security (AVSEC) related trainings for MAG and 3rd Party Customers, ensuring compliance with approved CAAM (Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia) requirements, and maintaining up-to-date training programs. Responsibilities include preparing course outline, course notes and practical training schedule for courses related to AVSEC, and the necessary examination and certification.
Key Accountability
- Responsible for conducting AVSEC-related trainings for various levels, ranging from operational to the highest management level, for both internal (Inter-Co) and external (3rd Party Customers) stakeholders.
- In charge of training and qualifying (IQP) new aviation security personnel, as well as requalifying (RQP) existing workforce across all entities and Business Units under MAG.
- Ensure that all trainings are conducted in accordance with the approved CAAM requirements, following the guidelines and regulations set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.
- Ensure the Organisation Aviation Security Training Program (OASTP) is renewed annually to keep the training syllabus and subjects up to date. Renewal process should reflect changes in the threat environment, national and international requirements, developments in screening technology, etc
- Ensure readiness for CAAM RQP/IQP Checks and participate in preparing for CAAM/CSO/3rd Party audits on Airline Mandatory Trainings and Aviation Security Training.
- Keep updated with knowledge related to aviation security, especially in CAD (Civil Aviation Directive)/ NCASTP (National Civil Aviation Security Training Program)/MABASTP/MASTP (Malaysia Airlines Aviation Security Training Program)/CAN (Civil Aviation Notice).
- Responsible for invigilating examinations for AVSEC for Inter-Co and 3rd Party Customers.
- Periodically update individual training files and check AVSEC training physical attendance for easy reconciliation.
- Complete the digital TMS (Training Management System) training assessment forms within 24 hours after the completion of the training and assist the Manager in approving and clearing TMS forms.
- Provide inputs to update changes to MABASTP, materials, manuals, and examination papers, as necessary.
- Assist in the development of the training materials, manuals and examination papers, as necessary.
- Ensure training equipment and materials are prepared for each training session, including practical/physical training related to the course type.
- Ensure training equipment and rooms are in good order and report any classroom discrepancies or defects.
- Conduct field trip training and practical training as required within the course of training.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects and other work assignments as necessary.
- Ensure the class evaluation/customer feedback is actioned as necessary and applicable to course type.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualification & Working Experience
- Possess an SPM with experience above three (3) years in aviation security
- IATA Professional Skills or ICAO AVSEC Instructors Course.
- Hold a valid Train the Trainer Certificate
- Diploma/ Degree holder will be added advantage
- At least three (3) years working knowledge and experience in aviation security and safety operations in an executive level.
