Airbus Helicopters in Marignane, a vibrant hub in the south of France, is seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic Aircraft Architecture and Product Policy Department. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of our transnational Weight and Balance team (11 members across Marignane and Donauwörth), contributing to the development of cutting-edge helicopters and ensuring the seamless delivery of our production aircraft.

Your Mission:
As a key member of our Weight and Balance team, you will play a vital role in managing mass properties across the entire Airbus Helicopters range. You will collaborate closely with numerous internal departments (Design Office, Performance, Integration Architect, Chief Engineering, Offers, Production, Program, etc.) and be involved in the management of our legacy fleet, with potential involvement in exciting new programs. Your expertise will be crucial in:
Ensuring customer mission requirements are met through accurate weight and balance management during production aircraft delivery.
Tracking design modifications and reporting their impact on helicopter weight and balance to relevant project/program stakeholders.
Challenging designers to optimize part design from a weight and balance perspective, leveraging your understanding of airframe/mechanics principles.
Creating clear and concise technical documentation and notes.
Participating in official aircraft weighings and validating results against calculations.
Providing essential weight and balance expertise to support responses to calls for tenders.
Contributing to the capitalization of business knowledge and the harmonization of processes and tools.
Managing subcontracting activities within your area of responsibility.
Maintaining strong synergies within the department (preliminary design sizing, competition analysis, aircraft architecture) and across the company (aircraft performance, offers, production).
Providing technical leadership and support to the team, particularly during critical phases of helicopter development, potentially drawing upon your experience in airframe/mechanics design and stress or your deep weight and balance knowledge.
Your Profile:
Minimum of 5 years of higher education or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of confirmed experience in the field of Weight and Balance / Mass Properties is essential. Candidates with additional expertise in airframe/mechanics design and stress will be highly valued.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
Demonstrated autonomy, strong organizational skills, and rigor in managing work with internal and external partners.
A proactive and quick learner with a passion for sharing knowledge and experience.
Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in transverse teams within a complex environment.
A clear interest in developing further expertise in the field of weight and balance.
Proficiency in Windows and Google Workspace environments.
This position requires a security clearance or the eligibility to obtain one.
