This is a hands-on role where you’ll turn raw data into insights that drive smarter decisions across the business. What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of costing and inventory management, ensuring accurate stock valuations and strong financial controls. You’ll deliver monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and variance analysis, while monitoring cash flow and supporting financial stability.

You will collect, clean, and analyse data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights, develop dashboards, and identify trends and patterns that drive business decisions. Working with stakeholders across all departments, you’ll support strategy, process improvements, forecasting, and the transition from manual reporting to real-time insights.

Compliance and audit will also be a key focus, from preparing statutory reporting and sales tax calculations to assisting internal and external audits. Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, you’ll act as a trusted partner on pricing strategies, tenders, and business decisions, while helping enhance reporting processes and drive continuous improvement.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role
  • A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
  • Proficiency in SQL and strong Excel skills (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and macros)
  • Experience with Power BI (or other visualisation tools such as Tableau or Looker)
  • Good working knowledge of Python for analysis and automation
  •  Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills – with the ability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

It’s a bonus if you also bring:

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other data lake technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes or ERP systems (Progress DB experience a plus)
  • An interest in machine learning or predictive analytics
