The Hogan Lovells Transportation Team’s Aviation Coordinator will primarily assist the firm’s Global Unmanned Aircraft System / Drone practice with policy-related efforts and organizing day-to-day client billable work, including for the practice’s anchor client, the Commercial Drone Alliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position's primary responsibilities will include:

ORGANIZATION

  • Organize the day-to-day work of the firm’s world-leading drone practice group
  • Track many client-billable projects at once through to completion
  • Capture notes and action items from key client meetings

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Develop social media content, press releases, talking points, and presentations on FAA policy decisions for clients

FAA RELATIONSHIP MAINTENANCE & DEVELOPMENT

  • Assist the Drone team with relationship development with federal agency colleagues for client billable work and relationship-building

FAA POLICY

  • Assist the Drone team with non-legal client documents that reflect an understanding of FAA policy and the government’s intent behind the policy

  • Assist the Drone team with upcoming FAA rulemakings and comment processes, on which we are about to advise 50+ clients

OTHER

  • All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our Responsible Business program

  • Other projects and duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong written and oral communication skills;

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with or without direct supervision;

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and other computer skills;

  • Proven ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality in highly sensitive matters;

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience;

  • One (1) to two (2) years of professional work experience preferred;

  • Large law firm experience is desirable.

HOURS

Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including one hour for lunch, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

The annualized salary range for this position is $56,000 to $60,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
