Aviation Refuelling Operator

Location: RAF Northolt, UK

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Aviation Refuelling Operator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of aviation fuel. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Safety First: Operating to the highest standards of Safety, Security, Health & Environment (SSHE), and reporting any concerns proactively.

  • Fuel Operations: Safely handling, storing, and refuelling aircraft to meet strict quality control standards.

  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate logs of fuel movements, quality checks, and customer transactions.

  • Emergency Response: Acting swiftly and effectively in line with emergency procedures.

  • Customer Interaction: Serving as the first point of contact for customers, delivering professional and courteous service.

  • Scheduling & Planning: Coordinating refuelling schedules and supporting vehicle and manpower planning.

  • System Input: Managing data entry into the AVR system for fuel transactions and reconciliation.

  • Special Duties: Taking on additional responsibilities once trained, including annual refreshers in TEAM and SMITHS.

What We’re Looking For

  • Licence: Valid LGV 1 (C+E) driving licence.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of current LGV Class 1 driving experience.

  • Decision-Making: Strong judgement and adherence to HSE standards.

  • Team Player: Able to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with basic IT, data input, and numeracy.

  • Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written English.

  • Flexible: Willing to work overtime and adapt to changing schedules.

  • Manual Handling: Physically capable and safety-conscious.

  • Organised: Excellent time management and self-discipline.

  • Compliance: Familiar with external regulatory requirements.
