Position Summary

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Avionics will be responsible for performing maintenance on aircraft in a safe and efficient manner at our Calgary MRO location. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical wire and system installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Avionics Technician in an AMO environment.

  • Follow instructions provided by assigned leaders, both verbally and through printed media.

  • Apply knowledge of Standard Wiring Practices and Avionics Systems; accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, and manufacturer’s installation manuals.

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of other aircraft systems, including hydraulics, flight controls, and major components.

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and equipment, including communication, navigation, flight control, and entertainment systems.

  • Repair and fabricate parts and wire bundles per drawings and standard practices, including proper bundling and wire termination into various contacts and connectors.

  • Perform system checks and inspections to ensure avionics systems comply with industry and safety standards.

  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain tool and equipment inventory.

  • Maintain a clean work area, report or act on any safety concerns immediately.

  • Ensure accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on aircraft.

  • Perform other assigned work and be willing to work shift schedules.

  • Properly utilize avionics test equipment and hand tools to perform installations, repairs, and systems tests.

  • Safely operate ground support equipment such as power carts and lifts (with proper training).

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working on regional or commercial aircraft in an avionics capacity.

  • Must hold, be working towards, or be eligible to obtain a current AME “E” Transport Canada license, or hold a similar license from your home country.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with the Internet.

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Experience with general aircraft wiring repair, fabrication, and installation.

  • Possess the knowledge expected of an Aircraft Avionics and Electronics Technician on relevant aircraft types.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work Monday–Friday day shifts.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to acquire a Transport Canada-issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).

  • Some travel may be required (up to 10%).
