AirX Jet Support is a UK CAA and EASA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on our parent company fleet of CL-600, EMB-135 and ERJ-190 series aircraft. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are recruiting for Aircraft Check Managers to join our team.

The Aircraft Check Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day planning, execution and control of maintenance activities related to assigned aircraft checks. They will provide daily oversight of maintenance teams and perform the release to service of aircraft on completion of Base Maintenance. The successful candidate will have a solution focused mindset and will be accountable for aircraft on time delivery.
This role reports to the Production Manager and is based at the London Stansted Diamond Hangar facility working a rotational 5-5-4 day shift pattern.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate with Production Planning, Technical Services and Materials departments to develop detailed production plans.
  • Review work scopes, task cards and customer work packages to ensure all required resources are available prior to aircraft induction.
  • Ensure manpower, tooling, equipment and facilities are allocated efficiently during the check.
  • Lead and manage the maintenance team during the check, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor progress, productivity and technical performance throughout the check.
  • Escalate issues identified that will impact planned targets and formulate recovery plans to maintain aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Control work order execution and progressive sign-off, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company procedures.
  • Ensure aircraft technical logbook, maintenance documentation, job cards, work packages and handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales.
  • Manage technical queries and consult with the Technical Services department for problem resolution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the customer during the check.
  • Provide regular progress updates, milestone reports and manage any planning or schedule changes.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings and customer reviews.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities on the aircraft are performed in accordance with regulatory standards and company procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring corrective action plans are completed promptly.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, first time quality, technical excellence and product integrity.
  • Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.
  • Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and lean principles.
  • Assist the management team with the day to day running of the London Stansted Base Maintenance Operation.
  • Deputise for the Production Manager during periods of absence.


Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as Base Maintenance Support Staff in a hangar environment.
  • Proven experience performing Category C Certifying Engineer function including release to service on completion of Base Maintenance.
  • Ability to hold and maintain appropriate company authorisations specific to role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Part 145 regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Effective problem solver with a solution focused mindset.
  • Flexible worker who is prepared to adjust working hours to meet operational demands.
  • Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in using Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn in house systems.


Required Qualifications

  • A valid UK CAA and/or EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 and Category C Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
  • Type ratings on 2 or more of the following aircraft - CL-600, EMB-135 & ERJ-190 series (desirable).
  • A degree related to Aerospace or Aircraft Engineering (desirable).


Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must have legal authorisation and the right to work in the UK.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance and hold an airside ID pass.
