Position Overview:
The Agronomy Ground & Aerial Applicator is responsible for accurately and safely applying agricultural products to customer fields using both ground and aerial (drone) equipment. This role combines technology, precision agriculture, and hands-on operational work to support efficient, effective, and environmentally responsible application practices. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and using innovative technology to support growers’ success.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Operate ground and aerial (drone) application equipment to apply fertilizers, crop protection products, and other agronomic materials.
- Ensure accurate mixing, loading, and application according to agronomic prescriptions and label directions
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper function and calibration.
- Safely handle and transport chemicals and seed treatment materials.
- Follow all environmental, safety, and regulatory guidelines for product use and application.
- Operate agricultural drones for product application and scouting
- Maintain drone equipment, ensuring readiness, battery health, and software updates.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
- Represent the company positively at all times.
- Report any field or customer concerns promptly to the Agronomy Lead or Manager.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Previous equipment experience is a benefit.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
- Must have or be willing to obtain:
Temporary Seasonal Class B CDL or Class A CDL.
Commercial Pesticide Applicator License
Part 107 Remote Pilot License
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Familiarity with precision ag technology, GPS, and mapping systems.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and relationship building skills
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work extended hours during peak seasons.
- Ability to stand, walk and be on feet, or sit for 8 to 10 hours a day
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat & kneel
- Capable to do repeated actions
- Effectively communicate with team members
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Work Environment
- Schedule: Must work scheduled days and hours. Must work full time, a minimum of 80 hours each pay period. Seasonal overtime is required.
- Environment: indoors and outdoors. Noise level is usually moderate.
- Travel: Between company locations and customer sites as needed.
