Job Skills / Requirements

The Advisor, Labour Relations?is a key differentiator for PASS. In that the position is accountable for ensuring that our employees are being supported in a manner that is consistent with best practices, policies and procedures outlined by PASS’s Corporate People & Culture Department. In addition to day-to-day labour relations in compliance with our collective agreements with a large union in the Vancouver location, the Advisor, Labour Relations is also responsible for the following functions: 
 

  • Provide guidance and support to management on disciplinary matters, collective agreement application, grievance resolutions and arbitration preparation across the Pacific Region 
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management to identify problems and resolve conflicts 
  • Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints and provide appropriate resolutions 
  • Work closely with several cross functional departments across the Pacific Region 
  • Support the representation of management in the Collective Bargaining process 
  • Deliver coaching and training programs on collective agreements, employee relations issues such as respectful workplace, conflict management, and investigations 
  • Be the subject matter expert  on the collective agreements 
  • Collaborate with People & Culture Team to update and maintain the employee handbook and other HR policies and procedures 
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives 
  • Support the Employee Care and People & Culture Teams with  projects or initiatives, as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications & Skills: 
 

  • Bachelor's degree in labour relations, human resources, or related field 
  • CPHR/CRHA designation is an asset 
  • 3+ years of experience in labour relations or related field 
  • Experience in collective bargaining, grievance procedures, and dispute resolution 
  • Familiar with Federal labour laws and regulations 
  • Experience working with labour unions 
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills 
  • Excellent leadership and management skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities 
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) and eligibility for Federal Security Clearance 
  • Travel may be required to other airports in the region.? 

 

Salary: $75,000 – 85,000 
 

Work Location: This position is based at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
