A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Sergeant (A Eng Tech/Eng Air Mgr) to serve as FS Engineering Support 1 (Eng Spt 1) at RAF Valley on Additional Duties Commitment (180) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 02 March 2026 (or later, subject to candidate status).

The 3 FTS Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (Mil CAMO) is responsible for all Continuing Airworthiness assurance activity for the Grob Prefect and Embraer Phenom aircraft operated by 3 FTS at RAF Cranwell and RAF Barkston Heath, and the Textron Texan operated by 4 FTS at RAF Valley. The Mil CAMO is headed by the 3 FTS Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (Mil CAM) and Chief Air Engineer (CAE), who reports directly to Commandant (Comdt) 3 FTS, as the Aviation Delivery Duty Holder (ADDH), for all engineering related matters, as well as to Comdt 4 FTS/ADDH for Continuing Airworthiness assurance of the Texan. While the 3 FTS Mil CAMO is based at RAF Cranwell, this post will be based at RAF Valley and will primarily focus on support to the Texan platform. 

FS Eng Spt 1’s role will be to support the ADDH, through the 3 FTS Dep Mil CAM and the Mil CAM/CAE(DDH), as required, for assisting in the provision of Continuing Airworthiness assurance primarily for Texan, but also for the Prefect and Phenom as required, aircraft fleets and for providing technical Airworthiness support.

In addition, FS Eng Spt 1 will be responsible for carrying out the duties of an Airworthiness Review Surveyor in order to conduct Baseline Military Airworthiness Reviews/Military Airworthiness Reviews (BMARS/MARs) and provide recommendations to the Mil CAM/CAE(DDH) for the issue of a Military Airworthiness Review Certificate (MARC).
