Job Details

The Senior Manager, Aircraft Fleet Logistics is responsible for overseeing all technical acceptance and regulatory compliance activities related to the acquisition (purchase or lease) and transition of aircraft, engines, and landing gear.  The position requires holding Transport Canada’s Minister’s Delegate – Maintenance (MD M). Accountable for aircraft and major component deliveries, coordinating with manufacturers and regulatory bodies, as well as lessors. Lead the management of technical records audits and physical inspections for fleet transition projects, including engines and landing gear. 

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs) and international airworthiness standards.
  • Exercise MD‑M authority to issue Certificates of Airworthiness and related certifications for imported/exported aircraft.
  • Oversee conformity inspections and approval of aircraft modifications.
  • Lead technical acceptance and delivery of acquired aircraft, engines, and landing gear.
  • Manage technical records audits and physical inspections for fleet transition projects.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and lessors/lessee during acquisition and delivery processes.
  • Lead and implement process and procedures to ensure all aspects of inspections, audits, and certification activities are adhered to.
  • Implement quality assurance programs to ensure compliance and operational excellence during the acquisition process.
  • Work closely with internal departments such as Finance, Legal, and Executive team to align technical and regulatory requirements with contractual, financial, and strategic objectives.
  • Provide technical input for lease agreements, purchase contracts, and compliance documentation.
  • Responsible for your training and the training of the direct reports, ensuring employees remain current with all technical and regulatory training requirements to function in their assigned role.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety / security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workplace for all team members.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strategic leadership, decision-making along with negotiation and stakeholder management.
  • Regulatory compliance expertise.
  • Technical proficiency in aircraft systems, engines, and landing gear.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education/Specific Training

  • Post-secondary education in Aeronautical Engineering, or Aviation Maintenance Management or related experience equivalent.
  • Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) compliance training.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) an asset.
  • Lease and contract management training.

Qualifications

  • Valid Transport Canada MD‑M designation.
  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) with extensive experience in airworthiness certification.
  • Minimum 10 years in maintenance roles within Part 705 operations.
  • Proven experience in aircraft acquisition, fleet transition, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of CARs and international airworthiness standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
