You will be a C-130J Test Pilot for the C-130 Flight Operations team. Our team is responsible for conducting acceptance check flights of newly assembled C-130J aircraft and flight test of modified aircraft.

We are where the “Rubber meets the Road” for all new C-130J aircraft and capabilities coming out of our Marietta plant.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Test Pilot your responsibilities will include:

• Plan, develop, and execute experimental test flights on C-130J, C-5M, and other AMMM aircraft to verify airworthiness, determine performance capability, validate and verify spec compliance, and assess operational suitability
• Conduct engineering ground and flight tests
• Conduct production acceptance and functional check flights on new or modified aircraft
• Pilot AMMM aircraft on delivery and ferry flights
• Pilot AMMM aircraft on airshow demonstrations
• Conduct demonstration flights with customers, government officials, or media representative to exhibit performance, flying qualities and system capabilities
• Provide experimental test pilot input to flight test, production, engineering, training, customer support, advanced development and business development teams
• Define requirements and develop Statement of Work for AMMM aircraft testing, production acceptance, training, and engineering design support
• Define requirements and develop Statement of Work for AMMM aircraft testing, production acceptance, training, and engineering design support
• Develop and review ground and flight test plans
• Conduct Safety Reviews, First Flight Readiness Reviews and Design Reviews
• Develop Temporary Operating Procedures and Aircraft Operating Limitations for flight test programs
• Review, validate, verify, and update aircraft flight manuals
• Provide classroom, simulator, and flight instruction for company and customer aircrew

Basic Qualifications
• Military Test Pilot School (TPS) graduate from a US DOD-approved school

• Pilot with at least 1500 hours Pilot-In-Command (PIC) time in multiengine aircraft

• 100 hours PIC during engineering and/or acceptance flights in multiengine transport type aircraft

• Experimental flight test experience

• FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate

• Current or formerly qualified military Instructor Pilot

• Current FAA Second Class or First Class medical or able to obtain within 30 days of hiring

• Secret Security Clearance

Desired skills
• Top Secret Security Clearance or able to obtain
• FAA Licenses: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) - Airplane Multi-engine Land
• Flight Instructor (CFI) – Airplane Multi-engine and/or Instrument Airplane
• L-382J or L-382 Type Rating
• 300 hours PIC in transport type aircraft
• Current and qualified as a C-130J Instructor Pilot or Flight Examiner
• Current and qualified as a strategic tanker pilot (KC-135, KC-10, KC-46, or AB-330 MRT)
• C-130J and/or strategic tanker flight test experience
• Instructor Experience - courseware development, platform and simulator instruction, and in-flight instruction
• Experience in writing and reviewing technical publications
• Experience with AFI 10-220 / DCMA INST 8210-1 and contract flight operations
• Experience with C-130J Tactical Operations and/or Special Operations
• Experience with Strategic Tanker aerial refueling operations
• Experience as a C-5 pilot
• Experience as a P-3 pilot
• Current or previously qualified to conduct C-130 Functional or Acceptance Check Flight (FCF/ACF) operations
• Experience in legacy C-130 models (e.g. C-130H, KC-130T)
• Graduate of weapons or tactics school, safety school, or advanced instrument school
• Current passport
• Willing to work evenings and weekends and willing to travel domestically and internationally for up to 30 days at a time

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $150,800 - $265,880. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
