About the Role
You will lead a Systems Engineering team, splitting your time between leading the team and hands on engineering activities at a senior level. The split will continuously evolve depending on project and team requirements.
Reporting to and working with the Systems Engineering Manager you will deliver avionic systems engineering outputs as part of a wider systems engineering department, primarily by coordinating and supporting team members.
You will also be providing day-to-day line management of a team of systems engineers, supporting the Systems Engineering Manager with resource planning and project delivery.
A key element of this role will be delivering a strong technical output comprising all aspects of design, development and integration engineering associated with control, navigation, communication, payload, aircraft management, and C2 systems.

About You
Qualifications:
A BSc or Masters Honours degree in an Engineering or Science subject.
Skills:
Essential
· Ability to support the development and mentoring of other engineers
· Demonstrable organisational and planning skills
· Experience in designing, developing and testing complex electrical, electronic and/or software-based systems
· Competent in practical integration tasks either using software or hardware-based rigs.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Report writing and information dissemination/presentation.
· Proficiency in spoken and written English
Desirable
· Experience as a line manager
· Design or systems engineering experience in UAS and associated systems
· Experience with integration and/or use of UAS flight control systems
· Experience in flying, or flight test, of UAS or RPAS
· Familiarity with common engineering tools, for example DOORS, Solidworks, Python, MATLAB or equivalents
· Demonstrable knowledge of systems engineering, preferably in aerospace.
· Configuration Management experience in an engineering environment

· Must be a British Citizen or must have an existing right to work in the UK
· Ability to live near and work in Salisbury, Wiltshire UK
· Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel

· Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
