About the team you are joining

IATA’s Business Intelligence Services (BIS) serve as the focal point and driving force for aviation data management and BI services in the aviation industry. One of the four verticals within the BIS department is Aircraft, Environment and Operations Data.


The team manages a portfolio of aviation BI solutions and data sharing programs leveraging IATA’s unique access to airline data such as ScheduleIS, Turbulence Aware, CO2 CONNECT, MRO SmartHub, FuelIS. The team is comprised of aviation industry experts, data management and analytic professionals based in Montreal and Geneva. 


The Specialist, Aviation Data will report to the Senior Manager, Operations, Schedule Data and this role involves collaborating with the team in the onboarding process by setting up the contributors in the system, acting as a liaison between the operations and the engagement team, working with airline stakeholders for analyzing data, conducting data quality checks in ScheduleIS system.

What your day would be like

  • Work with the ScheduleIS system to monitor inbound and outbound operations, performing data quality checks to ensure accuracy of the system. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and airline stakeholders in the onboarding process. 
  • Onboard airlines to the program by setting them up in the solution.
  • Work with SSIM and MCT data and help guide the team for potential enhancements based on the findings. 
  • Responsible for conducting data quality checks on the incoming data, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues. 
  • Responsible for identifying any data quality issues and working with the airlines and data suppliers to resolve them.
  • Handle routine customer queries related to incoming data and schedule output data ensuring timely, accurate responses aligned with SLAs.

We would love to hear from you if

  • 2+ years professional experience as a business or data analyst (within the aviation industry)
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with airlines, data suppliers and internal stakeholders
  •  Experience in SQL and data visualization tools such as PowerBI is a plus. 
  •  Problem-Solving Attitude: Proactive in addressing data quality challenges.
  •  Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with airline operations, scheduling, aviation data, and SSIM guidelines, Minimum connect times (MCT) would be an asset.
  •  Organizational skills and attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data validation and quality assurance.
