The City of Penticton is looking to fill the position of Community Policing - Crime Stopper Coordinator in our RCMP Department. The mission of the Penticton RCMP Service is to serve and protect the community, and work in partnership with the community to deliver a responsive and progressive police service. The RCMP promote respect for rights and freedoms, the law and democratic traditions, and treat all people equally and with respect in accordance with the RCMP's core values.
Under the general direction of the Community Policing Coordinator, the Community Policing - Crime Stopper Coordinator develops, educates and delivers community programs that reduce crime and the fear of crime in the community. This position recruits and trains volunteers to assist with the delivery of crime prevention initiatives in the community and works with the local crime stopper's board of directors to promote the Crime Stoppers program in the region. The Community Policing/Crime Stopper Coordinator also monitors and delivers crime stopper tips to the police and update tipsters on the progress of their tips and arrange for the payment of rewards where warranted and works with other agencies and community groups to promote crime prevention and reduction in the community.

The noted compensation range is the span between the minimum and maximum salary for a position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and approximately halfway of the salary range for a job with consideration given to internal equity.
