The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our Aviation team within the Transportation Systems business line. This position provides an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of complex airport infrastructure projects across Canada.

You will work with a collaborative and multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and specialists to support the delivery of airside and landside projects, including runway and taxiway rehabilitations, apron expansions, de-icing facilities, terminal area development, and more.

This role is well-suited for a mid- to senior-level professional with strong technical and coordination skills, a background in aviation infrastructure, and a desire to grow into a leadership role. You'll contribute to building long-lasting relationships with clients and partners while delivering impactful projects that support the future of air travel.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of airport infrastructure projects, from design through to construction and close-out
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across multiple design phases—conceptual, functional, and detailed design
  • Prepare and manage project work plans, schedules, budgets, and scope, ensuring alignment with client expectations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, subconsultants, and internal teams
  • Oversee quality control processes and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations
  • Support proposal development, including technical writing, fee estimation, and resource planning
  • Lead or support stakeholder and regulatory engagement, including presentations and public consultation
  • Support risk management and change control procedures throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in internal and external meetings to drive project progress and resolve technical or logistical issues
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

 

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited institution
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in a Canadian province or eligibility to obtain
  • 6–10 years of engineering experience in Canada, with a minimum of 3+ years in a project management capacity
  • Proven experience working on airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, and site development
  • Working knowledge of TP312 5th Edition, Canadian Aviation Regulations, and international standards (e.g., ICAO, FAA)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using project management tools and techniques (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust and collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and teams
  • A detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as required
