WSP is currently seeking a talented and driven Project Engineer to join our Aviation team within the Transportation Systems business line. Based in the Greater Toronto Region, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on some of Canada’s most important airport infrastructure projects—supporting the planning, design, and construction of airside and landside facilities.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in multidisciplinary teams, helping deliver high-quality solutions across a range of projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield lighting, de-icing facilities, and more. You’ll gain exposure to every stage of project development, from concept through to construction, while contributing technical expertise, collaboration, and innovation.

What you can expect to do here:
- Coordinate conceptual, functional, and detailed design phases for airport infrastructure projects
- Develop and review technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design reports, and presentation materials
- Collaborate closely with internal design teams, subconsultants, and project managers
- Liaise with clients and project stakeholders, supporting communication and issue resolution
- Support quality assurance and quality control processes across design deliverables
- Contribute to proposal preparation, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling
- Analyze project schedules to track milestones and critical path activities
- Perform field reviews or attend project sites as required to support design or construction activities
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail, deadlines, and team coordination
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited institution
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for registration in Ontario
- 5+ years of engineering experience in Canada, ideally in aviation, transportation, or infrastructure projects
- Experience working on airport-related projects is preferred
- Familiarity with TP312 5th Edition, ICAO, or FAA standards is an asset
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using project scheduling or modeling tools is an advantage
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to manage deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and work both independently and in collaborative team settings
- Willingness to travel to project/client sites as needed
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning, problem-solving, and professional growth
