Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and organised Operations Officer to join our team and provide essential operational support to our trainees from initial onboarding through to our prestigious graduation ceremony. In this role, you will work closely with Training Managers and the Directors of Skyborne to optimise course capacities and training programmes. You will also play a key part in ensuring the effective utilisation of aircraft, simulators, and classroom resources, all while maintaining an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with Company procedures, especially regarding safety and compliance.
  2. Being part of the monitoring process for safety and compliance and raising any issues to the flight safety/management team.
  3. Producing and sharing pertinent information to the flight crews and using air/ground radio to pass/receive information.
  4. Oversee and monitor flight operations including real time aircraft tracking and liaising with Air Traffic Control Units with flight critical information and booking of training slots.
  5. Manual handling of aircraft when required to reposition to/from the hangar.
  6. Support the trainees with their requirements they need for their flights.
  7. Provide support to the training management team.
  8. Support of the Flight Logger system and monitoring expiry dates and correct data entry.
  9. Support of the administration process associated with Ground school, Flight school and MCC APS training.
  10. Support the preparation and publication of trainee reports and exam results.
  11. Provision of required documentation to trainees for processing licence applications.
  12. Create and monitor the daily, weekly, monthly schedule for aircraft, classrooms and simulators.
  13. Update tracking tools to monitor student progress and aircraft/simulator utilisation.
  14. Maintain tech logs and liaise closely with maintenance personnel to schedule servicing and defect rectification.

Qualifications

  1. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to motivate and encourage staff, to deal effectively with internal and external contacts ranging from executive to administrative levels.
  2. Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure.
  3. Flexible and adaptable and able to accept changes and adjust accordingly.
  4. Previous experience of working and fostering professional relationships.
  5. Previous experience working in an operations environment would be beneficial.
  6. A keen interest in Aviation would be desirable.

Additional Information

Salary £30,000 per annum

  • Shift pattern will be 4 days on, 4 days off and made up of 12-hour shifts, usually 07:00-19:00. 
  • You will be working as part of a 7 day operation and therefore availability to weekend and bank holidays is required.
