Job Description Summary

This role reports into the CFM56 Business Leader and is directly responsible for the operational management (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost) of Production Areas within CFM56. The role holder will be managing a large team of both direct and indirect reports and will be accountable for delivery to established KPI's and achieving the strategic priorities of the business area.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage a large operational area to reach defined targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
  • Overall responsibility within the assigned business area for problem solving, waste elimination and productivity improvement using lean principles (Flight Deck).
  • Ability to hire and develop talent. Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
  • Utilising in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and/or technical experience to execute strategy.
  • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes. Work across business functions and engage multiple stakeholders as required.
  • Embrace business strategy and information and routinely deliver meaningful messages to the team
  • Deputising for Business Unit Leader as required and acts as escalation point for any complex issues.


Required Qualifications & Characteristics

  • This role requires advanced experience in Manufacturing & Operational Management.
  • Experience in continuous improvement using Lean principles.
  • Effectively role models the GE Leadership Behaviours Desired Characteristics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan and execute projects.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate across a diverse range of business levels
