Description

Wood require a Marine Service Team Leader (MSTL) for our DANA Contract on our Western Isles, which is in warm stack condition.

The duration is 2 – 6 trips and this is a FPSO is a Warm Stack condition, which is located in Kirkwall.  Travel by Fixed Wing from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen and frog transfer to the asset,.  You will be managing a team of MCRO’s, LOLER, Crane Operators, Deck Crew. 

Basic Purpose of Job:   

(1) Responsible for safe and efficient marine cargo operations

(2) Responsible for the safe delivery of services to support FPSO operations

(3) Provide support and direction to the Offshore Leadership Team

 

 



Responsibilities

Supervisory and Managerial Duties: 

  • Safety Leader
  • Behavioural safety leader and coach
  • Emergency response duties
  • Manage Marine activities and control of work 
  • Organise planned maintenance routines
  • Incident investigation, resolution and close out
  • Audit verification of marine operations
  • Synergi “champion”
  • Performance management of personnel Responsible for offshore input projects and mods and effective opportunity identification; e.g. pre-engineering & scoping
  • Continuous Improvement Maximo focal point for marine tasks

Interface with other offshore functions and onshore support team 

 

Main Duties:   

  • Management of marine systems and integrity – including, hull, topsides and moorings
  • Management of marine operations including vessel stability, cargo storage, onboard quantity and crude quality
  • Management of marine and services personnel including:-
    • cargo operators
    • deck crew 
    • helicopter crew 
    • lifting & rigging personnel
  • Management of scaffolding personnel, scaffold requests and activities
  • Management of aviation support and POB
  • Responsible for efficient tanker offloading operations
  • Ensure effective supply vessel usage and working in the field
  • Temporary equipment management

Lifeboats, life rafts and survival equipment 



Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years Merchant Navy experience preferably in a role as Captain, Chief Officer or equivalent.
  • A relevant Master Mariner/ Chief Officer Certificate of Competency (unlimited area/tonnage) with Dangerous Goods Endorsement.

Demonstrable safety leadership experience

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:

Dangerous Goods Endorsement

STCW COC

Project Specific:

  • Understanding of vessel Stability to the level of an Unlimited (Tonnage  and Area) Chief Officer 
  • Experience and knowledge of Cargo off-take operations to tandem DP shuttle 
  • Experience of loading, storing and discharging of crude oil 
  • Experience of tank cleaning, crude oil washing and tank entry 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in Oil and Gas industry, ideally on Floating Production Installations
  • Experience of offshore safety management system policies, procedures, processes and documentation
  • Ability / experience of risk assessment and work scope assessment
