Task Responsibilities:

Who we are

Cargolux Airlines International S.A. is the all-cargo air carrier based in Luxembourg and currently operating 30 Boeing 747 aircraft. The proposed position is part of the Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) division of the airline within the Material Management department. Its mission is the management of the supply chain for the maintenance organization, including the procurement, storage and distribution of aircraft parts and maintenance services. The Material Management group comprises 4 departments: Material Control, Material Procurement, Material Services and M&E Contracts and Maintenance Sales departments.

The position is at the heart of Cargolux’s fast-paced operation. It is dynamic, challenging and a great opportunity to work with very diverse teams/individuals, solve new issues on daily basis and join a solid team. It involves a wide range of topics, from the definition of long-term material repair strategies to daily urgent requests to keep the fleet flying. The role consists of the management of the Material Services department (including budget) and teams (around 17 employees), comprising:

1. AOG Desk (Critical Material Supply), whose main responsibilities are:

  • Resolve critical requests (including work stoppage and AOG - Aircraft On Ground) for tooling, equipment, material and/or spare parts at main base or at outstations, for both line and base maintenance;
  • Support maintenance customers with regards to parts, tools and equipment - through pooling arrangements or on ad hoc basis.

2. Material Repairs, whose main responsibilities are:

  • Coordinate all necessary external inspection, test, repair, modification and/or overhaul of material and components;
  • Negotiate related Material Repairs contracts;
  • Manage and coordinate projects;
  • Participate to the resolution of supply chain issues.

3. Warranty, whose main responsibilities are:

  • Perform all warranty claims (modifications, repairs, contractual guarantees, etc.);
  • Perform all aircraft accident and damage claims to the insurance company.

Essential Requirements For The Position:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or in any other related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a procurement function and areas such as sourcing and vendor management. Experience in Maintenance & Engineering would be considered as an advantage.
  • A previous experience in a managerial position, including people management, is preferred.
  • A previous experience in contract negotiation, procurement techniques, and best practices is preferred.
  • A previous experience with AMOS would be considered as an advantage.
  • Ability to handle stress, priorities and to work under tight deadlines.
  • Results oriented and solution driven with good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Methodical and organized way of working with high attention to detail.
  • Dealing effectively with complexity and having good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to handle and resolve conflicts.
  • Goal-oriented mindset.

Working Conditions:

  • Permanent full-time position based in our Cargolux Maintenance Center in Luxembourg.
  • The position demands a regular presence in the office and requires vacation and other absences to be planned to avoid conflicting with service needs.
  • Flexibility is needed with working hours.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection.
