Overview

The Department of Aviation and Technical Education (AVTE) in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University Eastern (Price, UT) is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. This is a part-time, Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Technician, including entry level position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair and service Utah State University Flight training aircraft (i.e. Diamond DA40F, DA42 (2 liter engines).
  • Must be willing to help maintain shop equipment, buildings, lawn care, snow removal and other tasks to assist the flight school operations.
  • Assist the Chief of Maintenance with all tasks related to airworthiness and act in his stead when not available.
  • The position could include other duties related to overall airport operations, USU Aviation recruitment, and/or teaching.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant Licenses.
  • Candidates must provide their own tools (Any specialty tools for specific jobs will be provided by the University). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two- or Four-year degree.
  • 2 years of any aircraft maintenance experience working on Diamond DA40F, DA42 (2 liter engines).

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
