Junior Flight Dispatcher

Task Responsibilities:

• Purpose of the Role

  As a Flight Dispatcher, you will be at the heart of our flight operations, maintaining the integrity of Cargolux’s flight schedule and supporting our crews with expert planning and coordination. Your decisions will directly impact flight safety, fuel efficiency, and operational performance.

  You will report to the Manager Flight Dispatch and work closely with various stakeholders across the Integrated Airline Control Center (IACC).

• What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare and issue Operational Flight Plans (OFP) and ATS Flight Plans in compliance with ICAO procedures, company manuals, and international regulations.
  • Optimize payload uplift and fuel burn while managing ATFM slots effectively.
  • Analyze weather, aircraft performance, ATC restrictions, and MEL/CDL requirements to ensure safe and efficient flight planning.
  • Support and brief flight crews on operational risks and flight conditions.
  • File and transmit ICAO flight plans to ATC and coordinate any changes with relevant authorities.
  • Provide real-time flight following and communicate critical updates to crews and operational departments.
  • Initiate emergency response procedures when required and issue incident reports.
  • Liaise with Eurocontrol and other service providers to eliminate operational constraints.
  • Continuously improve flight planning policies and proactively resolve operational challenges

What We’re Looking For

• You will begin your journey as a Junior Flight Dispatcher, and upon successful completion of our comprehensive internal training and certification exam, you will advance to the role of Flight Dispatcher, taking on greater responsibilities in our dynamic operations team.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
• Familiarity with ICAO regulations, ATFM systems, and flight planning tools.
• A proactive mindset and commitment to safety and efficiency.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, permanent position based in the Cargolux Headquarters
• 24/7/365 shifts required
• Juniority of the position is dependent on the candidate's profile
• A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
• The successful candidate will have to obtain a valid medical fitness certificate for the job issued by the Company doctor prior to the start of the employment

The position qualifies as safety-sensitive personnel as per EU Regulation 965/2012. The successful candidate will have to be tested for psychoactive substances prior to the start of the employment
