Head of Planning – Demand, Aerospace Procurement

Full Time

Derby/Bristol/Hybrid working

What you will be doing

As the Head of Planning - Demand, Aerospace Procurement, you will operate across the Aerospace Procurement organisation. You will be the custodian of Demand, be the voice of Procurement to our customers and be able to communicate change within Procurement. 

You will lead the SIOP process across Aerospace Procurement, ensuring the critical risks from demand and supply balancing are identified and appropriately mitigated as well as being an instrumental leader in the SIOP transformation. 

You will lead a planning and control organisation and to ensure that it facilitates excellence in customer delivery at optimal levels of working capital and functional/operational costs, by assuming and delivering upon some or all the functions key accountabilities which include the design, development, planning, scheduling and governance of all supply and value chains required by the business, and the efficient and effective management of logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Leading teams of management and staff to maximise performance and ensure compliance to all company and functional policies.

  • Developing people to ensure that the function always has the highest possible level of professionalism, that the function retains its key staff and that it has a strong succession plan in place.

  • Defining and implementing agreed functional strategies and plans which drive business improvement and are fully aligned to business and other functional strategies and plans as appropriate.

  • Defining, implementing and supporting the development of policies, processes, procedures, standards, tools and infrastructure to ensure excellence in functional capability now and in the future.

  • Providing group and business procedures that are fit for purpose and appropriately deployed and that ensure compliance to all legislative and regulatory requirements.

  • Measuring process compliance and performance and ensuring gap closure as necessary by the deployment of process improvement initiatives and any appropriate training.

  • Ensuring the deployment of best practice by establishing, maintaining and engaging in communities of practice for all staff.

  • Providing and operating shared services where appropriate.
