Explore your next role:

As a key member of the Engineering team, the Engineering Support Specialist will report to the Manager, Structures Engineering and will be responsible for the administrative function that supports the Company’s technical support requirements, various engineering-related activities including supporting design Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) and Design Engineers and in areas where specialty information is required.

  • Research OEM/vendor products and solutions and then provide in-house technical support to maintenance personnel by providing established technical data to resolve technical requirements/issues.
  • Compile and prepare data packages for customers upon completion of STC/LSTC incorporation.
  • Provide experience-based recommendations to the company Aero/Mechanical Engineers, regarding the feasibility of intended Modification/Repair design drawings and associated accomplishment instructions. 
  • Qualify new aeronautical products on behalf of the Purchasing Department for usage of aircraft types for general and specific purposes by comparing the product intended for purchase with the OEM requirements. 
  • Maintain and identify current revisions of documentation ensuring that only the current and applicable documents are identified for release.
  • Prepare and submit detailed damage reports to Original Equipment Manufacturers, such that the issue is clearly and concisely identified so that an effective resolution is obtained in the most economical and efficient manner.
  • Support company shops (Composite/Structures/Accessory) with obtaining repairs, technical data, and vendor support for off wing components and tooling.
  • Develop aircraft paint layouts for company and customer aircraft.

Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:

  • At least three (3) years of practical work experience in a technical role as Aircraft Structural Technician/Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
  • Transport Canada AME-M1/M2, AME-S License rating, or Aerospace Engineering Degree/C.E.T./C. Tech considered an asset and preferred.
  • A person occupying this position must have a proficient understanding of aircraft systems, processes used in maintenance and repair of aeronautical products, reading, and understanding engineering documents/OEM manuals, as well as being capable of interpreting and applying regulatory requirements to a given task.
  • Ability to adapt and acquire new skills and knowledge of aircraft systems and components through familiarization and study.
  • Ability to create documentation using MS Office suite of software.
  • Technical writing and AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Project management/able to manage their own tasks to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Able to work independently from head office when assigned to work at remote location for a limited amount of time.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, define problems, establish facts, collect data, and draw valid conclusions based on this information.
  • Capable of working under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Work effectively both in an individual and team environment.

Previous experience is required however, we encourage all individuals to apply with those who may have transferable skills in the following: Aircraft Structural Technician, Administration, aviation, engineering, aircraft

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our North Bay head office.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
