The City of Penticton is looking to fill the full-time permanent (35 hours a week) position of Crime Reviewer in our RCMP Detachment. The mission of the Penticton RCMP is to serve and protect the community, and work in partnership with the community to deliver a responsive and progressive police service. The RCMP promote respect for rights and freedoms, the law and democratic traditions, and treat all people equally and with respect in accordance with the RCMP's core values.
Reporting to the Records Supervisor, the Crime Reviewer position is a highly technical role that requires a deep understanding of police operations and data integrity standards. The successful candidate must have prior experience working within an RCMP detachment, as this background is essential for navigating the complexities of police file review and classification.
The Crime Reviewer provides a quality assurance audit of all police files, ensuring accurate and detailed classification of file scoring as required by the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS). This role involves identifying discrepancies, providing corrective guidance, and maintaining the integrity of police records. The Crime Reviewer will also deliver feedback to officers and staff to support continuous improvement in file management and compliance.
