Our Electrical Power Contracts team is seeking a talented Contracts Manager to support the full contract lifecycle for our Defense & Systems business. From cradle-to-grave contract management to fostering critical product line partnerships, this role offers the opportunity to thrive in both government and commercial contracting environments.

As a key member of the Defense & Systems Contracts Team, you’ll be the primary point of contact for government, airframer, and commercial procurement customers.
You’ll play a pivotal role in driving contracting actions across all phases of a program, including proposal strategy, solution development, production, sustainment, and closeout.

In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in customer relationships, regulatory compliance, contract terms, price and profit negotiation, risk analysis, and scope management. Collaborating across multiple functions, you’ll be a trusted partner to the business, balancing customer expectations while achieving business objectives.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Support of various contracts (fixed price, cost reimbursement, prime, sub-level, Part 12/15, production, etc.) 

  • Cross-functional collaboration to assess and disposition FAR and DFARs requirements and commercial terms and conditions for solicitations and contracts 

  • Contract life cycle support for multiple programs including solicitation assessment, proposal strategy and compilation, audit and negotiation, contract operation and change management, customer relationship maintenance, administration of claims and disputes and contract closeout 

  • Commitment to compliance, quality and timeliness 

  • Participation in special projects as assigned 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college 

  • Strong experience in government, commercial or international contract formation and execution 

  • Experience with administration of commercial terms and conditions,

  • Solid oral and written communication skills and interpersonal and influencing skills 

  • Ability to analyse and resolve problems 

  • Advocate for continuous improvement

  • Motivated to execute independently or with minimal supervision when appropriate 

  • Periodic travel  

 

Desired Characteristics 

  • Project management and other leadership skills 

  • US Federal Acquisition Regulations, with emphasis in Parts 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and DoD Supplement 

  • Sound knowledge of GE Flight Deck fundamentals (internal employees only)
