As part of the Production
team, the CNC Operator is responsible
for the safe and efficient operation of a CNC machine in the manufacturing
environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently set-up and operate 3 or 5 axis horizontal and vertical CNC
milling machines with Fanuc or Siemens controls
- Perform in-process checks of parts
- Precise use of various measuring devices
- Monitor cutting tool performance throughout the machining process
- Safe operation of forklift and overhead crane
- Support 5S and Lean manufacturing processes
- Maintain a clean machine and work environment
- Maintain fixtures as needed for optimal function
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
- CNC Machinist Technician Diploma (or similar) or a related,
equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Previous experience in high-precision CNC machining strongly
preferred.
- Good understanding and use of CNC machine controls
- General knowledge of speed and feed applications
- Knowledge of cutting tools
- Good written and spoken English
- Very good organizational skills with attention to small details
- Must work well in a team environment
- Must be able to work various shifts, such as day, afternoon, night, or
weekend
- Must be able to demonstrate safe operation of machinery
- Ability to do precision set-ups
This is a physically demanding job and requires the
following:
- Excellent hand and eye coordination
- Ability to work on set-ups for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Safe use of hand and power tools
