Amazon Air (AIR) is seeking a highly enthusiastic and motivated Business Development Manager to be a part of air cargo team to innovate, manage, and grow our cargo portfolio through sales development, relationship building, and engagement activities. The successful candidate will analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities, utilize an extensive network of relationships within the air cargo industry to gather market intelligence, attract new businesses, tailor our products to customers' needs, and execute on business development opportunities and close deals.

The successful candidate will be results driven, highly analytical, customer obsessed, and ready to roll up the sleeves to grow this business.


Key job responsibilities
• Acquire, engage and accelerate high potential customers to Amazon AIR.
• Maintain a high level of engagement from potential customers and proactively identify the challenges they are facing. Build relationships with key stakeholders across the portfolio.
• Be the voice of the customer to guide product development and iterations.
• Identify and lead complex projects or initiatives to solve customer pain points
• Communicating ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all types of audiences and not limited to writing narratives, business cases, and other strategic documentation.


A day in the life
The daily role of the Cargo Business Development Mgr (BDM) will require communications with internal stakeholders and Amazon AIR partners, Air Carriers, and Service Providers to assure best customer experience and smooth efficient operations. This BDM will follow up on leads, onboarding new customers. BDM will work with Amazon teams to invent and simplify processes to scale Cargo Sales and Operations. Monitoring and reporting on market trends, customers’ requests, operational progress of ongoing deals.



About the team
The AIR Cargo team engages with industry leaders, airlines, brokers, General Sales Agencies, and Freight Forwarders to deliver high quality AIR cargo services. A customer obsessed team that works cross-functionally and externally to surface and solve for complex problems and deliver solutions by innovating and simplifying, and raising the bar in the air cargo industry.



- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in business development, partner development, sales or alliances management
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

- Master's degree or equivalent
- Relevant experience working in the Air Cargo/Air Freight industry, aircraft leasing, and Charter flight Brokerage.
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
