Job Summary

 

Two brand new roles have been created within our thriving East Cowes facilities - the Business Data Analysts (BDA) will be responsible for collecting, organising, and interpreting data to support the effective management of the Operations Function.  They will also be responsible for regular review and extraction of data from business systems, including ERP, using Excel, programming languages, and visualisation techniques, to analyse and present standard Operational Reports, KPIs and analyse trends. 

 

In addition to presenting data, the BDA will also have responsibility for analysing and interpreting information to identifying trends, highlight areas for attention, and make suggestions and proposals to improve business strategies in support of business development within the operations function.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Typical responsibilities wil include:

 

  • Review and analysis of Operational performance data to support business development.
  • Provision of regular reporting, data analysis and trend review for key metrics including hours management, Tier board data (including running tier 3 data inputs), improvement plans, optimisation of work flow data, Quality, SPC control data, OEE Data analysis.
  • Preparation of regular reporting for audit activities
  • Production of monthly presentations for management reviews
  • Supporting ad hoc data requirements, for example supporting Project KPIs
  • Maintain, manage and communicate results as per defined project KPIs and project governance
  • Apply PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) approach, use A3 problem solving tools appropriately in case of deviation to plan to ensure successful project delivery and sustainability.
  • Responsible for data management, governance, and master data quality in conjunction with other functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across the operation of financial systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems. 

 

Job Qualifications

 

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:

 

  • Previous experience in a similar role, including development of data architecture and document data with data map flow, data modelling, data quality etc.;
  • Ability to create insightful reports and presentations, using tools such as Power BI;
  • Ability to analyse data, and suggest process improvements;
  • Advanced level Excel skills;
  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment would be highly desirable
