Business Change Analyst

Salary:  £40,000 to £46,000

Contract Type:  12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Full time

Location:  Gatwick – Hybrid

The Role

As part of a business change team you will work collaboratively with Portfolio Delivery projects and business areas to ensure the area is fully prepared and ready to receive the change.

By using a structured change management approach, produce business change plans to deliver outcomes that cover People, Process and Technology, and the projects encouraged benefits, also acting to minimise resistance and improve engagement.

In summary the Business Change Analyst will support the business through Portfolio Delivery Business Change methodology end to end.

Key responsibilities:

• Support Business Change Managers to produce change impact analysis on people, processes, and systems
• Support the Business Change Manager to build business change plans that are owned and fully resourced
• Obtain a deep understanding of the scope/portfolio of change projects, its impact from a service and/or product prospective and benefits (internally and externally)
• Complete business readiness assessment at key points within project life cycle and conduct readiness assessments to preparing the affected business areas for the transition to new ways of working
• Support project transition into BAU ensuring all changes are embedded
• Support the integration of business change activities into the overall project plans and work with the Project Manager to ensure these activities remain on track
• Identify people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develops specific interventions, plans to mitigate or address concerns
• Create and handle measurement of systems to supervise adoption of new ways of working and delivery of benefits
• Assist in the identification and mapping of partner group(s)
• Explain the purpose of the ‘change’ to team members into 'what’s in it for me' scenarios
• Assist SME and project teams in co-coordinating, scheduling, and messaging training requirements both internally and externally, including the development of materials and tools
• Provide practical help to users with the new system before, during and after the ‘go-live’ of the systems replacement

About You

We are looking for candidates with excellent communication and writing skills as well as superb active listening skills. We are a dynamic and supportive team, who work collaboratively with each other and our project teams to ensure that our people are a priority in the delivery of change. 

We are keen to work with individuals who are passionate about people, and keen to ensure they are considered and supported through the delivery of change in an organisation. You do not need experience in Business Change, but an understanding of it or exposure to Business Change activity would be useful.

Minimum essential requirements for the role:

• You will need to have good communication writing and presentation skills whilst also possessing the ability to facilitate and lead workshops with internal and external partners.
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of (or be keen to learn about) the industry and business of CAA and the environment in which it operates.
• Experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders including Executive Committee/Board, all departmental managers, industry suppliers and government departments.
• You will need to operate to the CAA Values and Behaviours framework and be an action orientated self-starter who works on their own initiative and takes ownership for personal performance.
• Strong enough to stand ground on key decisions and willing and able to positively challenge partners at all levels.
• The successful candidate needs to operate with urgency and pace without neglecting the quality of their work – supporting, developing, and challenging are key components of this role.

Desirable skills for the role:

• A qualification in Change Management Foundation Level or Change Management Practitioner is preferred but not crucial.

Additional Information

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

Relocation & Property

The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.

We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.

We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
