Assembly Engineer - Aerospace Interiors

Our client is a global aerospace parts manufacturer.

We are seeking Assembly Engineers for a 4 day working week in the Blackpool area to join a rapidly growing CAA Part 145 approved manufacturing organisation of aircraft interior equipment. The expanding operations cover a comprehensive capability to manufacture interior equipment required for a variety of applications including; aircraft, rail, military and business jets.

This is an onsite engineering role where you will be working with a team on the assembly line for the aircraft interior products. It requires a skilled approach therefore experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial, preferably working with sheet metals.

Working Schedule:
• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday to Wednesday: 07:00 to 17:00
• Thursday: 07:00 to 16:30

Requirements

Experience in a manufacturing or assembly line environment is preferred, however training can be provided for the requirements outlined below:

• Build mechanical components into sub-assemblies and through machine systems.
• Interpret & understand piece part and complex drawings.
• Understanding of the correct fit of tolerances required for successful sub assembly operation.
• Good understanding of document compliance for production & quality.
• Experienced in use of cutting, drilling, powered rollers and hard grinding machines.
• Experienced in fabrication & sheet metal work.
• Good understanding & knowledge of verifying dimensions & product specifications.
• Process control ensuring all required parts for assembly are sourced from stock.
• Skilled in marking & cutting of materials using variation of methods horizontal & vertical band saws, powered guillotine & band saws.
• Skilled in formation of rollers & powered press brake.
• To plan machining by studying engineering drawings, machining parameters and tight tolerances, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to part 145 and part 21 regulatory standards.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety and regulatory procedures and practices.
• Maintain continuity by documenting and communicating actions and irregularities and continuing needs.
• Demonstrates job knowledge by participating in production updates, training and development opportunities and understanding of technical publications.
• Takes ownership for the accomplishment of new and varied requests to add value and development.
